Macallan 1824 Collection Limited Edition MMXI draws on some of the oldest and rarest casks on The Macallan Estate. Each year’s bottling will be different, Travel Retail prices ranging from $60-$2500, and only 1824 decanters have been made for 2009.
The 2009 release is bottled at 48% abv and drawn exclusively from sherry seasoned Spanish oak casks, which have been solely grown, cared for and crafted by the Tevasa cooperage. The liquid is displayed in a handcrafted crystal decanter, which has been decorated by a scottish silversmith.
The most premium expression in the 1824 collection is presented in a beautiful decanter, topped with a silver dress stopper and set in a luxurious rosewood burl display box. It is available in selected airports around the world.
A limited edition Macallan decanter first unveiled at Changi airport in October 2009 and originally a travel retail exclusive. A combination of some of Macallan’s finest sherry casks, bottled in a Limited Release Decanter 70cl at 48%.

Initially I found information with prices around € 1000 (£ 800). This however proves to be the current price (less than a year after introduction).
I now found multiple sources that show that the Recommended retail price was £110, $170 or €130,-
